My students are hooked on performing with Orff pitched percussion instruments. They recently performed for a state music teachers' association. However, the deep bass sounds came from borrowed instruments that were returned to the lender immediately following our performance. These gifted students are now begging for more Orff Ensemble instruction, and we do not have the deep bass bars necessary to balance the ensemble sound.

I teach elementary music to 500 students in a Title One school in a small town. We provide excellent services for our Title One students. However, the academically gifted students receive only a limited amount of specialized instruction. The Orff Ensemble has become my main resource for reaching these particular learners.

I am amazed at the progress these gifted students have made this fall. This ensemble, originally formed for the state music teachers' performance, has become an outlet for student creativity and talent. The students are adamant about continuing the ensemble as a permanent part of our after-school schedule. Their response has been a delightful surprise. To continue the ensemble, however, I need to provide the resources that will enable their best performances. We need to add the deep bass sounds afforded by Sonor's contra bass bars. A full complement of contra bass bars will also provide a voice for yet another student.

Your gift towards a Contra-Bass Chime Bar will greatly enhance the musicianship of my students, and will also provide an excellent voice for the entire ensemble. It will round out and solidify our sound, enabling the ensemble to perform with more confidence and skill. Thank you for considering this proposal.
