I teach computer classes to Pre-K through 8th grade students in the heart of a neighborhood established to provide housing for African -American veterans after World War II. We are a Title I school with a dedicated staff working to improve our students' academic achievement.

Through good luck and special grants, we have 3 new computer programs this year (Lexia Primary Reading, FASTT Math and Education City) that we hope to use to improve students' knowledge of math facts, as well as their reading and science skills. Students can work on individualized lessons in each of these programs to practice the facts and skills they need. They need headphones so they can hear the lessons.

I am asking for headphones for the computer lab and for classroom computer learning centers so students can use these programs without the sound of their lessons disturbing the rest of the class.

Because of budget cuts, there is no money to purchase anything new for my computer classes, so your donation will be essential for our students' success. Please turn our students into Sonic Youth so they can take full advantage of these new programs.
