Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hi, I teach a kindergarten class in East Palo Alto. I serve a population of English Language Learners in an urban setting. A lot of my kindergartners have never been in a school setting and this is their first time in such an environment. Some are struggling with their letters and sounds and need more assistance at home. Most of our parents are not able to help their child with this, nor are they able to read to them. I believe that if my students are able to play and use the leap frog books at home and in school, they are able to keep up with their peers. These books are at their independence level and they can do this on their own with little assistance. I want to be able to have my students take the book home and listen to it and read along with it. Thank you again for your generosity.
