My 7th grade English students are in a high poverty area in a magnet school for science and technology.

My students want to add more to their English Electronic Portfolios, but the little technology money in our school is not allotted for the English classes. Right now, they have to depend on clipart and pictures from the Internet instead of photographs from their own environment and lives.

My students will be able to use the digital cameras to take pictures to accompany (or illustrate) their written work in their English Electronic Portfolio. They will be able to photograph landscapes, people, objects, etc... to help highlight topics within their writing.

With the donation of these digital cameras, you will make it possible for my students to learn a new medium. They will learn how to find photo subjects, how to take pictures, how to select the appropriate photograph, and how to best display their pictures to enhance their written works within their portfolios.
