I am an elementary school art teacher in Brooklyn, New York. Last year my fifth graders created fabulous portraits of American Presidents in watercolor. We have a beautiful, recently renovated auditorium with absolutely no art on the walls. My principal says she would love to hang our Presidential Portraits in the auditorium for permanent display but they must be framed. I agree that the portraits should be framed and hope you do, too! Here are some reasons why this will benefit our students: -framing and permanently displaying student art sends our students the message that their work is important and valued. -when parents visit our auditorium for student performances, they are reminded that our visual arts program is strong and their children's talents are nurtured in our school. They will support their children's art education more vigorously. -our school is a community of immigrants from many diverse countries. Portraits of our presidents remind us of what we have in common. We will need 16 basic frames and mats for the portraits. Thank you so much for making our student artwork shine!
