Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach the second grade in an area where the students are economically challenged. The majority are also second language learners. Our focus is on reading, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and reading for enjoyment.

I have been a teacher for some time, and have purchased thousands of books for my classroom. I have also purchased tape recorders for books on tape. Well, now with technology in our day and age, I have personally purchased a few CD players that the children take home. The problem is I do not have very many books on CD. This is what I need for my students, a larger variety of books with the CD. But, my funds are low and so are the schools.

My students and I need help to build up our books with cd library. If will help many of my students enjoy reading and have the opportunity to be read to. So many of them have no one to read to them at home or even listen to them read, this might help, a little.

Your help will ensure that my students who need this help will receive it, the present students and future students. Evey child should have someone to read to them at night.
