I am a science teacher for grades 3-5. We have an excellent hands-on Science Program that the children participate in. The children come from very culturally diverse backgrounds. I teach all academic levels from from self contained special needs children to the gifted and talented. They all love Science!

The school has provided us with a wonderful hands-on Science program. It includes experiment worksheets that the children use while performing their experiments to track data, or take notes. At the end of the lesson we staple the sheets into our Science Journals. It is a fabulous system. The children can take their journal home to share with their family.

The problem is the amount of valuable class time we spend stapling. I have 4 small staplers and it takes a great deal of time for everyone to wait for it to come to them. Just when they finally have the stapler it is out of staples! The solution is 10 new heavy duty staplers that hold more staples.

By funding this proposal you would be giving the students a chance to have more science time and less stapling and waiting time. We would have the Science Journals ready to go in no time. Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal. You are a very special person who cares.
