We are a rural middle school where technology is highly sought after but seldom affordable. I am the media specialist and am trying to support curriculum through various forms of media.

Like all teenagers our students are highly motivated by the use of technology. We would like to tap into this motivation to help students learn the state standards through less conventional methods. The only obstacle we face is money to incorporate technology.

One small step toward our goal is to purchase two flip cameras that students could check out of the media center for use on both curricular and community projects. The software is already in place for the students to use these cameras to make exceptional products. I know students and teachers alike would be excited to use these flip cameras to bring their social studies, science and language arts projects to life.

Your help in the purchase of these cameras will ensure the opportunity for our students to express themselves creatively while still completing the assigned task. It would provide them with an opportunity to get hands on experience with technology not available to them at home, and it is hoped with a few, to set them on a career path involving technology.
