I teach an academically gifted group of students in a city that desperately needs future leaders to be well prepared.

The students are so excited with they can take ownership in the classroom, and become involved in the learning process. Currently, I have one 3x7 chalkboard that is original to the 1968 building. Also, there is a 12 foot high, 2 feet wide support beam that is in the middle of my classroom. Therefore, I am very limited with how I may set up my room for instruction. I am forced to give notes on the overhead which limits graphs, maps, and images, or to write and erase constantly in an hour long class, four times a day. Information is available to enhance my lessons just a click away, unfortunately, there is only one LCD projector available for check out in our media center that provides support for over 800 kids.

With a ceiling mount LCD projector I can change the way I teach and the students can take ownership of the classroom by engaging visual, auditory and tactile learning. Set up would not be an issue anymore since all students would be able to see the projection. We live in such an age of technology all around us but in education my classroom is desperately lagging behind.
