I teach 6th Grade Communication Arts, Reading and two Math classes. One class is a group of 19 students and the other is a group of 15 students.

I have been blessed with a wonderfully unique group of students. My students (not all of them) are especially advanced when it comes to social interaction as well as cooperative working.

I have requested the Yacker Tracker, and a pencil sharpener. The reasons for my request for the Yacker Tracker is to help those students that excel in social skills to help self monitor themselves, letting other students enjoy a more calm and quiet educational experience. Our classroom is a harmonious community; however sometimes gets a little on the loud side, I would love to be able to have students take charge of their voice levels with the visual the Yacker Tracker gives. As for the pencil sharpener, my students are relying on their individual sharpeners that tend to chew up Thier pencils and leave pencil shaving all over our classroom. Our classroom community takes pride in our room and it seems like we are doing more housekeeping because of the pencil sharpening madness.

I understand that my request seem trivial; however I feel that they will help my students become more productive and give them all a chance to enjoy their educational experiences.
