Hello! Our school is a very special place. It is an alternative school for over-age middle school students and provides them an opportunity to "get back on track." Our students, by age, belong in high school, but academically are still in 7th or 8th grade. We provide small classes and an extended school day in order to shore up any deficiencies our students have. If they progress successfully with the extra attention given in the small environment, they can test out after one year and go to a regular high school. Our school library was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina by flooding and wind damages to the roof. We are rebuilding our special collection which houses materials of interest to our students, but are written at accessible levels as they progress in reading skills and abilities. We need shelving to house the many new books we have received through various grant programs. We hope that you will consider by helping to fund new shelves for our library media center.
