I teach 5th grade in a Title One school in North Carolina. Most of my students have limited exposure to different forms of technology.

Most of my students have limited exposure to different forms of technology at school and home. Many students do not own computers and if they do have a computer, they do not have Internet access. Though my school truly is dedicated and committed to providing students with many technological experiences, funding is limited. There are 2 computers in my class, and last year I have 31 students in my class.

With a LCD projector in the classroom, there will be no more crowding around the table to just get the opportunity to learn. With this technology, those kinds of logjams, with students straining to see a small exhibit or picture, would be a thing of the past if the classroom was outfitted with the latest array of educational technology.

Bringing multimedia to the classroom would have a HUGE impact on my students. I promise to use the LCD projector everyday to share with my students exemplary student work, slide-shows of PowerPoint presentations, curriculum geared websites, the latest educational videos or other exciting educational opportunities. I also would love to teach my students the technology behind the LCD projector. I think it is vital to teach students how to use the technology themselves, as well.
