Equipment For Middle School Basketball Team

My students need a score book and 8 Wilson basketballs.

I teach 8th Grade Math and coach the Boys Basketball team in a neighborhood in which many young men are too often faced with the unfortunate opportunity to participate in activities that will lead them down the wrong path in life.

With very limited resources last year,our students not only enjoyed participating on the basketball team and benefited from a health standpoint, these young men developed a sense of teamwork and improved self-esteem that will benefit them for years to come.

With the new basketballs that we will receive, we will be able to improve the quality of our practices, by allowing players to participate in separate drills and focus on different aspects of their game. In addition, we plan on using our game statistics to help increase our players math skills, by using their game statistics to calculate their shooting percentages, points per game averages, etc.

With your help, we can ensure that the young men will have an outlet where they can strengthen not only their bodies, but their minds as well, and in the process, give them an outlet to use their free time in a productive manner.
