I love science and want to bring that same love of science to my fourth grade students. It is wonderful being a teacher and seeing students' eyes light up when they walk into the classroom and are able to see something new and know they will soon be able to do something they have never done before. Part of our state's 4th grade curriculum is to observe and conduct experiments on animal behaviors and adaptations. It is very difficult to conduct experiments without the necessary materials. Many students love and know a lot about animals; however, I want to push my students further then knowing about animals, I want them to experience more than reading and seeing pictures of animals. I would love for them to experience what is like being animals. The science kit I am requesting for my students will do just that. It will let them experience what it is like to have a certain animals vision and/or hearing. It will let them experience what it would be like to have different feet and skin. Most importantly it will give them a chance to explore and think outside of the box. They will be able to think, predict, design, and implement their own experiments. I am already getting excited about the many ways my students can use this kit in our classroom. I know it will benefit many students for this academic year and many more to come. I would greatly appreciate any donation towards the improvement of our science class.
