Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

The manifestation of this inspirational quotation from Henry David Thoreau can be realized even at the early age of four if introduced properly. The materials I am requesting will be used to implement time management, scheduling and organization into our classroom. Children need structure and they benefit from a classroom that is neat, scheduled, and organized. We have a flow chart in our classroom that let's everyone know what is happening when and for how long. We need to further this concept with materials that will make our classroom "flow". I am an enthusiastic pre-k teacher in a large, urban school in New York City. The children are living in a community that is struggling and very often, do not have the same opportunities as children being raised in suburban communities. I am committed to motivating my students and educating them to the best of my ability. I am requesting materials to help our classroom "flow". We are in need of a calendar to keep track of days, months, seasons, holidays, weather, and special events. This calendar comes with enough pieces for the next twenty years. We also need a labeling system to keep the classroom organized. The labels comes with a photo and matching word for blocks, manipulative's, art supplies and almost everything in our room. We also need portable art caddies for the three tables in our classroom. These caddies will hold crayons, markers, glue, craft materials, scissors and can be used for a variety of purposes. We could also use a chart to discuss various topics and to help build language skills. It would also give the children an opportunity to record information and share observations. Lastly, we need a rhyme flip chart to reinforce rhyming sounds with the whole class. Please consider this proposal. It will make all the difference to a wonderful group of little children.
