I am a first grade teacher in a very diverse classroom. Our student body mainly is from low income backgrounds and are at risk. Ninety percent of the students are on free or reduced lunch. Many parents in my classroom work hours that prevent them from attending school functions and parent conferences. I am required to create an electronic portfolio of each child in order for the student to take home with them to show their work. My students work very hard and look very forward to having their portfolios shown in a slide show presentation as well as their own CD. They are very proud to see themselves on screen and would benefit very much if we had our own camcorder in the classroom at all times. My goal is to increase parent involvement and understanding of where their students are academically. Your assistance in purchasing a Sony Camcorder will make it possible for me to open up home communications and to help me create a portfolio for each of my students. Thank you very much!
