I am a kindergarten teacher in a military based community. Most of my children have at least one parent in the ARMY, many of whom are currently deployed to the Middle East. While my students are only about 30% free and reduced lunch, there is still a need for the school to be one of the most stable parts of these children's lives.

We spend about half of our day in the carpet area and this area is not only a place for learning, but is also a place for young children to develop important social skills including turn taking in conversation and helping a neighbor.

I am asking for a carpet that will give each child his/her own space, but that will also allow the students have a partner close by for problem solving. I teach using cooperative learning, which puts each child in the driver's seat of his/her education and personal and partner space are necessary for learning to occur.

With your help, my young students will be able to have a comfortable place to learn together and from each other.
