My students need 2 sets of books (one has 13 books and the other has 10) as well as 24 book bags.

I am a first year teacher just starting out and I need help getting my room in order for my new students. I will be teaching second grade in a Title 1 school where the families are at a low-income status.

The students I will have cannot afford to "donate" items to the classroom and I am a new teacher with little or no resources because I am just starting out.

I am requesting book bag buddies and books to go in them so my students can take these books home to read with their families or read alone. The books need to be easy enough to read by themselves as some of the students do not have family members that are willing to help them read at home. That is why I have picked out multi-leveled book sets. Also, I plan to put an assortment of activities to go along with the books in the bag, and maybe a special treat from me.

Your donation will ensure the my students have quality books to read at home and that they will continue to gain knowledge and understanding of the printed words. The worksheets included in each bag will also ensure they comprehend what they are reading.
