Thank you for taking time to read this. Health and Physical Education classes at my school are in Great need of The Great Pyramid Resource Kit. I teach at a 5th and 6th grade school. I teach PE and Health to almost 490 students. We are located in a small rural town. How Great it would be to have an all - inclusive kit for teaching the USDA Food Guidance system. This kit would enrich my health unit on Nutrition, be useful in PE classes showing students the balance between food and physical activity, and help students learn how to be healthy.

I see it as my goal to give my students every resource possible to provide hands-on learning and visuals for constructing their learning. What better way to do this in health and pe classes by being able to use an all-inclusive Great Pyramid resource kit. Our school population performs well on yearly tests measuring math and writing skills. We have not however performed well on science, health, and pe tests. We do have a large population of low socio-economic families. Much of our resources are spent on reading, math, and technology materials. Our science, health, and pe supplies are often on the bottom of our needed list. This is why I'm asking for one Great Pyramid Resource Kit (an all-inclusive kit for teaching the USDA Food Guidance System) to be purchased for use in my health and pe classes. ALL students will benefit at my school!

The Great Pyramid Resource Kit would be a valuable learning tool as we study Nutrition and Physical Activity. The kit is a visual model that provides hands on activities for students. The kit is Great because it has a total of 40 Life/Form food replicas representing the five food groups and fats. Participants can arrange an entire days dietary intake on plates and then place in the appropriate category in the pyramid. It is perfect for a multitude of nutrition education stations. It includes a 3-D pyramid, life-form great food kit, carrying case, teaching resources pyramid poster, and worksheets. As I attempt to increase All my students' levels of interest in nutrition and making smart food choices, I think this resource kit would impact those who struggle with the content reading of science and health, but also benefit those that excel at science and health. Hopefully using this Great Pyramid Resource Kit will spark student interest in nutrition, help students learn how to make smart food choices, and help students understand the relationship of food and physical activity. With this increased interest and understanding, students will do well on science, health, and pe tests.

Your help will make it possible for all students at my school to have the opportunity to study and increase his/her knowledge regarding good nutrition and understanding the USDA Food Guidance System resulting in and increasing the chances of becoming healthier individuals.
