Have four mats-need seven. I am a physical education teacher. I teach in a K-4 school. We are a farm community school with a blue-collar work ethic. Our focus is to give the best education possible. This means not only regular classroom education, but education with special classes like Art, P.E., Music, and Challenge classes.

Here's the situation: With a school of 270 plus children and only four tumbling mats in the physical education program, the mats can be pretty full. Most times there are six to seven kids on a mat, which leads to less time on the activity and more time for kids to stand around and not participate. Also the four mats that we have right now are 15 years or more and are a little weathered.

With the new tumbling mats, there would be three to four students max at each mat. More time would be spent on the activity. Kids would not feel rushed to complete the activity and be able to take their time to accomplish the objective. This would diminish the standing around and waiting part and increase participation.

With your help you will ensure that my students will get the most utilization out of the tumbling mats. Kids will not have to wait five or six turns before they are able to take their turn.They will be able to take multiple turns instead of just two or three turns.
