I am currently a first grade ESOL teacher. I requested to teach our Kindergarten ESOL population in the upcoming school year. This will be the first time that Kindergarten will receive direct ESOL instructional services.

Many of my students are very shy. I strongly believe that through singing they can overcome this as well as help them learn a second language - English.

I believe that with the use of a karaoke machine with Cd's, and language building activity books my students will be encouraged to take chances. Oral language is usually acquired before any other form of language. I believe that this will be a fun way to encourage them to take chances.

I am counting on your kind help to open the doors to my students. I have seen with my own eyes and heard with my own ears how powerful music and song can be. The motivation is amazing. Here is something to think about... Just like music, English is universal. Just imagine how much fun it will be for my students. Many thanks in advance on behalf of my ESOL students and myself.
