We Love Wii But We Can't See!

I love my students, but sometimes love is not enough. Hello, I teach Health and Physical Education in an elementary school in Southeastern KY. We have 280 students and serve a very high percentage of children whose families are below the poverty level with 78% of our students receiving free or reduced lunch. Sadly, 37% of our students are overweight. We have very little funds. I am allowed only $250 a year for equipment. Therefore, I personally purchased two Nintendo Wii games and the Wii Fit for my students. The Wii Fit is a balance board which is controlled my the student's movements. Students can check their Body Mass Index (BMI) check their weight, set personal goals, and keep tabs on their daily progress. It's a fun way to get fit with over 40 activities and exercises, including yoga, strength training, aerobics, and balance games.

We have the Wii, but we can't see. Presently, we are using two very large and very heavy TV sets with the Wii. One of which, I personally donated.

A projector would allow the students to better see and would allow more students to participate. Also, the projector is much more light weight and set up would be more convenient. This projector would also take up less space in an already limited storage area.

This project is a dream of mine but I simply can not afford to purchase this projector-neither personally nor with my small budget of $250.00. I'm hoping that with the help of Donors like you, this dream will become a reality. Thank you for considering our proposal.
