Students need the opportunity to create art with the proper and safe materials even when budgets are being cut and the cost for quality supplies is on the rise. I am a public school teacher with 17 years experience. I try very diligently and creatively to give my typical students and students with differences in ability a varied and well rounded art experience. The costs of supplies has skyrocketed in the last few years.

Providing experiences in printmaking, ceramics, painting and sculpture is so very expensive on a limited art budget. Five years ago my supply budget was cut by nearly 50 percent. Each year I have to decide what will I teach and what can I afford to teach. I refuse to limit my students art experience in grades 6,7 and 8. They have the desire and the drive to learn. It is my responsibility to provide the materials and direction to foster that desire.

The resources my classroom needs is relief printing blocks and black water base ink. EZ cut printing block material is high quality and safe for my students. The cost of providing just these two items from my classroom art budget represents 25 percent of my total budget. The relief printing experience should not be lost and with your help it will not.

Your help in this endeavor will ensure my students of this valuable art experience and will provide them with safe and quality materials my budget can no longer afford. Thank you.
