Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 6th-8th grade math in the inner city of NY and too many of my students are far behind their grade level. Our students, however, are very creative. They love to express themselves.

We just received a digital camcorder which students took an immediate interest in to create their own math and educational videos! However, we only have two-dimensional boring bulletin boards.

Our dream of an LCD flat panel monitor can help transform our 2-dimensional learning and empower us to make learning 3-dimensional, and as real as life! The math videos that students are creating help them capture their learning in a creative and engaging way. They will use the monitor to 1) view progress, 2) present videos to help others learn, and 3) help them retain their knowledge by playing their videos and screencasts to help solidify their knowledge!

Your assistance in a simple LCD monitor can transform their learning and make it come to life! They no longer will have to read problems from a boring textbook; they can create their own problems and show them on the monitor to help them remember what they learned! Only YOU can help make this dream come true! You can make a difference in their learning and their lives!
