To my K-2 students Art Class is a vast ocean of visual and tactile experiences. I am constantly looking for new ideas and products that will meet the needs of these young children.

After a lesson on "Life Under the Sea" I discovered that many of my students had never been to the seashore. Of course a field trip is impossible, but I can bring the beach to them!

A product called "Deltasand" acts just like sand but is pliable and reusable. The fine motor skills of 5,6 and 7 year old children develop differently. The use of this product will increase pressure control enabling even the weakest child to succeed over and over again.

A lesson called "Castles of Sand" will introduce them to Architecture. Each child will build a part of the castle. In the language arts class they will name their castle and write a fairy tale about it. These will then be on display at our community library for all to enjoy. Through your generosity many people will be touched by these works. Imagine having a castle named after you!
