My students need materials such as tactile sight word cards, a sight word center kit, creating sight-word sentences center, a sight word computer game, pointers to look for the words in our room, and lap board erasers/markers.

I am a kindergarten teacher of 19 amazing little readers! Eager to learn and so excited because we are learning our "star words"...also known as "sight words"- those words you need to memorize and are not decodable but seen over and over again in reading.

Though many of my readers are experiencing school for the first time in their lives, already many of them are starting to learn words. Simply put some words on cardboard-shaped stars, velcro them to the ceiling, turn off the lights, add a flashlight and wow their eyes light up as they lay on their backs reading...

My students need some more activities to add to our centers and this is what I am requesting in my project. I am asking for tactile sight word cards, a sight word center kit, creating sight-word sentences center, a sight word computer game, pointers to look for the words in our room, and lap board erasers/markers to help us practice writing them on our dry erase board. My readers need plenty of opportunity to practice their newly learned star words.

Please help them shine as bright as the stars on a dark night sky! You will be the large guiding sun :)
