Reading IS Fundemental! We NEED Reading Materials!

My students need novels to read that are on their interest level. They are reluctant readers but they enjoy reading material they can relate to and is realistic. The Sharon Draper novels are a big hit, but I have only been able to read them aloud because I do not have enough copies for students to have their own book. Any help you can give my class in reading all of the Sharon Draper titles will be greatly appreciated. The titles include Tears of a Tiger, Black Like Me, and Julius Caesar. We need 30 copies of each title. Thank you so very much for your consideration. As an inner city school, the books students receive at school are the only ones they get, and are able to enjoy. Thanks again.

We like to read, but lack the resources. We need novels that are up to date and relevant to my students.

We are an inner city school with about 70% free and reduced lunch students. We also lack parental support. Our reading scores as a system are low and our students do not have access to current and relevant literature.

Purchasing new novels would give our children the opportunity to read current and relevant literature. It would also give me the opportunity to read some classics with my children.

Your help will give my students the opportunity to learn the joy and love of reading. You will give them the material to get hooked on reading!
