I teach a group of 10 self-contained middle schoolers with cognitive, social, and behavioral needs that are not met in a regular classroom setting.

Special education classes often tend to get the leftovers at a school. Currently, I have two student computers that are extremely slow and many times just won't work. I try to use the Internet often in my lessons because technology motivates my kids and gives them opportunities to see things they will never be able to in real life.

With a computer that fully works and is movable, so many doors will open for us. The small size and limited room arrangement that my hut offers will not hinder me as I try to make the computer accessible. An adequately functioning computer will make lessons more timely and less frustrating for the kids. They get so disappointed when we can't complete the parts to out lesson that involve technology because the computer is frozen or won't open up correctly.

With your greatly appreciated help, my students will visit far places, get practice with research, quickly access links to worlds of knowledge otherwise unreachable to them.
