I teach 11th grade English in a high-need community. My students try very hard but are in need of supplies they cannot get themselves due to issues beyond their control.

Students typically don't have enough money to purchase books on their own. Some of the students have jobs to help their parents with bills and buying books is not a priority.

I need books so my students can do outside reading assignments. I hope they develop an appreciation for literature and would like to help them by encouraging them to read outside of school. My project needs a set of 100 The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn books so students can read at home for homework. As of now I only have a classroom set (30 books). The books would be kept at the school for future classes. Each book will help a student and they will be able to remove them from the classroom each day to read for homework and other activities.

Your help will empower the students to read outside of the classroom and hopefully provide a lifelong love of learning.
