The students I teach are disabled in the areas of reading and writing. My children struggle with their class work due to these disabilities. I would like them to be more independent readers and writers. The Speaking Spelling and Handwriting Ace by Franklin will enable students to overcome this struggle. Fifth grade students are required to write reports in social studies class. Using the Franklin Ace, a child can proofread a report that they have hand-written in order to search for errors. A student can find a word that they may have misspelled, plug it into the Franklin Ace and search for the correct spelling. It will then provide a list of possible intended words and pronounce each of them so that the child will know which word they intend to use. It can also display synonyms that will help him or her choose a more appropriate word to convey their intended meaning. This practice will also strengthen their vocabulary. The Franklin Ace also empowers students. In a classroom of more than twenty students, he or she will not have to wait for an assistant or teacher for help because they can use the Franklin Ace to become more independent learners. The Speaking Spelling and Handwriting Ace challenges children, turns them on to vocabulary, writing development and spelling and gives them a great attitude about their learning!
