Thank you for taking time to read about my classroom. I teach upper grade elementary students with emotional disturbance in a Special Day Class on a public campus. My students come from all walks of life. Most students get bussed in from all parts of town. Some live with their parents, grandparents, adoptive/foster parents, or a single parent. My students work hard to mainstream, or go back into general education classrooms with their peers. Students are constantly learning and practicing social skills in order to cope with the social emotional and academic demands of a school day. I do my best to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment and to accommodate the behavioral and academic needs of every student. I use various teaching methods in order to support my students' learning styles. Donors Choose helps me to give my students what I can't provide and to help close the gaps for students to succeed.
