My seventh grade students are amazing, but they have no idea how blessed they are, even the "underprivileged kids." I teach in a low socioeconomic area in West Virginia, but my students are blessed with outstanding teachers that genuinely care for the students. Our staff is constantly creating fantastic lessons and outings for the students; in addition, we donate many items (paper, pencils, books, classroom materials, etc.) to the kids who have "nothing." I want to show my kids that no matter what they are going through, they have a great support system, and they need to "spread the love" themselves. I know if my students have the necessary materials, they can find a way to make a difference in other people's lives. Thus, my students will become compassionate young adults that want to make a difference.
