If you saw the movie, "Walk the Line," about Johnny Cash, then you saw Reese Witherspoon as June Carter Cash playing the autoharp. The students in my school are familiar with the autoharp because I play one that was rescued from a friend's garage. Since then, I was fortunate enough to secure funding for the repair of two more orphaned autoharps. Because there is no general music education in my school where 43% of the students qualify for free lunches, the children are anxiously looking forward to playing these beautiful instruments. To prolong the lives of these newly repaired harps, we still need gig bags, plus a resource book, tuning forks, and picks with which the children will need to strum. Won't you please help me protect our lovely autoharps with a gift for these important supplies?
