Our 4th Grade class is made up of 14 inquisitive and caring students. Our classroom is a collaborative learning environment where students learn to persevere and accept others' differences. Students work in groups, learn to peacefully problem solve and respectfully debate one another throughout the year. Our classroom celebrates inclusion and environmental friendly behaviors. On Fridays we water the plants in the garden and will be working on service learning projects throughout the year.
This year students will also have the opportunity to participate in reader's theater and with your generous donations, will be able to record their presentations and skits and share out their work with parents and friends.
The students participate in ELA and Math Centers daily, in addition to listening to read aloud novels that teach important life lessons and share diverse perspectives.
My Project
This project will allow students to self-reflect by adding some of their most treasured work to their ClassDojo portfolios. Having an iPad in class will also allow the class to create videos and edit them on the iPad. Videos and presentations will be easy to upload using the iPad.
I also would like to offer flexible seating for students who like to move and wiggle while learning.
The books in our cart also support social-emotional learning and will be great additions to our classroom library. Many projects will be made possible with the items in our cart!
In addition, students will have a scale for weighing materials during our science investigation. This will also support students' learning of measurement and data standards and help make cross-curricular connections between Math and Science.
