My students are extremely hard working! My students are from a very rural area of North Carolina. They really enjoy learning and getting into hands-on activities. They are excited to be at school and gain new experiences every day. Sometimes their environment prevents them from certain experiences other children may have. My students come from a very poor area, and often do not have resources to experience things other children in higher income areas do. We try to provide as much experiences for them at school as possible. Their neighborhood should not limit their experiences!
My Project
These books will help my students learn more about their state. We currently do not have a textbook or many resources about North Carolina, which is our 4th grade curriculum. These books are a variety of informational and fiction text. This will allow students to improve their reading skills while learning about our state. These books will be used during guided reading, read aloud, and individual student reading. These resources will provide bright and colorful pictures to help students increase their curiosity about North Carolina. The books are books that my students do not otherwise have access to. Besides providing information on our state, there are various reading levels in these books as well to provide learning on all levels.
