My Journalism and Writing for Publications students are some of the most motivated students you will find. Regardless of whether they see journalism as a future career or not, each of them is passionate about providing our student body with the most newsworthy, informative, and entertaining student newspaper they can.
Many of my students want to pursue journalism as a career in college.
They are learning the writing, editing, interviewing, and designing skills they will need to make their dreams a reality.
My Project
I teach high school students who are eager to write and report on the events happening at their school. The problem is we cannot afford to print the newspaper this year. As a result, we have decided to choose the more economical method of publishing online. The added benefit is that online journalism is how their generation is accessing the news. By going online, we will reach more people than ever before.
We would like our website to be hosted by School Newspapers Online, a company devoted to publishing student journalists.
This company celebrates the stand-out student journalists each month by giving them awards and much-deserved recognition.
Your donation will go towards the one-time setup fee of the website, the yearly hosting fee, and an add-on package. The add-on package gives us the ability to place advertisements on our page so that next year, we can be self-funded and keep the website going.
