This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a district serving a high number of economically disadvantaged children, I know my students struggle with basic skills. They struggle not from a lack of knowledge, but from a lack of experience.
Knowledge is power.
Students are strengthened through engaging lessons and hands-on learning. Regardless of their economic background, I want every student to know they are and can be greater than their current situation. Students should not feel limited because of their demographics, but empowered by their abilities. I want my students to be involved in the learning process.
My Project
Headphones will be used to assist students with focusing on independent technology task. Students need personal headphones in order to work separately on iPads and computers. Headphones provide students with isolation, which drives them to work productively. With headphones on, students are setting an expectation that they are in deep thought, focused on their learning.
Headphones will help students turn off distractions and get down to the business of learning and completing their work independently.
Headphones will prevent interruptions while providing a quiet work environment for both students and teacher. Headphones are used to help student focus, enhance learning and motivate independence.
