I need professional development texts for literacy, math, differentiation, morning meetings, and writing to strengthen and sharpen my craft as an educator.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Finally, I am at a point in my career that I wake up excited to go to work every single day. I have a classroom full of students who are also excited to come to school each and every day. The learning that takes place inside the four walls of our classroom often blows my mind. Many of my students repeatedly say that it has been the "best day ever!" I am grateful that we have those days just about every day of the week.
My students are so eager to learn and are sponges that are soaking up every little thing.
As an educator, this is a dream come true but it also means that I have to step up my game to ensure that my students are getting the best education possible. I feel that over the years the my passion for education has increased as well as my desire to learn more. For me and my teaching career, the saying holds true..."When you know better, you do better."
My Project
I am a mother to three small children as well as a military spouse. I also lead my daughter's Girl Scout troop and am a team mom for my son's sports. I would love to go to a teaching conference but with all of my family requirements, I know that is not an option. I have decided to take professional development into my own hands by creating a library with meaningful texts that will help me grow as an educator.
My growth as an educator means that my students will get to reap the benefits of new lessons, techniques, and ideas.
We focus heavily on the Growth Mindset and my learning adventure will be a great example for my first graders. The texts I am asking for will enrich our daily morning meetings as well as writing, small groups for both literacy and math, and finally, my struggling learners. At the end of the day, my main goal is to ensure that every one of my students gets exactly what he/she needs.
