This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are aged three to five years and this classroom is their first school experience. It sets the tone for their future education. Therefore, I do all that I can to make their experience one that is exciting and motivating.
I teach Early Childhood Special Education in a high poverty, Title I school.
I have ten students in the morning and ten in the afternoon. They are all three to five years old and all qualify for Special Education services.
My Project
My students need the Learning Alive Suite in order to help them learn beginning math and alphabet skills. The addition of the interactive whiteboard system will allow me to continue to increase student involvement in many of the videos we use to help them to learn.
Learning Alive is a cross-curricular augmented reality program that appeals to a variety of learning styles, including visual, auditory and tactile, by incorporating science, social studies, geography and more into reading and math.
Technology is used to bring 3D into the classroom. The letter H becomes a horse which can run across the screen. Many of my students learn best through visual and auditory skills. These materials will allow them to do so in a new and wonderful way!
