My 3rd grade classroom is a place where students feel valued and safe. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, each bringing diversity and experiences to our room. We learn best by experiencing hands-on activities, and engaging lessons.
We are ethnically diverse, yet, when in our classroom, we are a family.
Our classroom is often moving, whether it be during our Daily 5 rotations, virtually traveling during Social Studies, exploring various experiments during science, cooking, or dancing during our Brain Breaks!
My Project
Our classroom has a classroom economy system. Students design the money, apply for classroom jobs, pay rent (for desks), as well as receive fines for breaking classroom rules. We have a classroom mall 3 times throughout the year where students make items to sell.
The items I am requesting will help improve our current economy system, as well as increase my students' economic literacy through games and books.
The banking boxes will be used by our classroom bankers to cash checks and receive payment for fines. The pencil pouches will act as wallets for students' money, while the calculators will be used in student stores.
