My Students

We are in dire need of a new washing machine! Plastic aprons are nice but very costly! We accumulate a lot of dirty laundry! Please help us to stay clean!

We are a title one public school in Hawaii with a wide variety of students of various ethnicities.

These students are hard working and so creative. Our goal is to not only teach life skills to our students, but we give them a window into a career in the culinary field. Many of these students are classified as special education students. Culinary arts is one of the few classes where students can really shine and excel! They love "hands-on" learning and take pride in the dishes that they create!

My Project

Students will be able to work in a sanitary environment and be able to wear aprons on a daily basis. Plastic aprons are very costly so we can only provide them for "messy labs". A washer will enable students to wear aprons for every lab and we will be able to wash all of our dish towels and rags.

The impact this will make on our students will be tremendous.

We can operate our kitchens in a sanitary and professional manner. We also will save a huge amount of time by not having to hand wash all of our hand towels and rags.
