I teach German to 6th, 7th and 8th graders in Virginia. Our school has a very diverse student body racially, economically and otherwise. My project needs one DLP projector to insure that my students can see images of the land, the geography, the food, the clothes, the people and the cities of the German-speaking countries that we study. Learning a language and about a culture means so much more to students if they can connect it to real places and real people. I plan to use the projector to show short German videos, highly visual power point presentations, pictures of German cities and music videos of artists who are currently hip with teenagers abroad. I also want my students to create their own presentations, and I know that it would be tremendously motivating to know that their projects would be displayed on the big screen!
