These workshops teach my students their rights and how to advocate for themselves in their own neighborhoods. Each year, I find that my scholars become more vocal about their rights & understand the climate of the world at the end of the unit.\r\n\r\nBy the end of the unit, students are more empowered and knowledgeable on their own rights, racial injustices, and the different types of activism.\r\nThe notebooks that I am requesting today will allow my scholars to brainstorm and jot down any thoughts they may have. These notebooks will also let students know that English class is a safe space & that their cultures are important.
