Message from Vice President Bonnie Eggenburg, CCAP

Teachers have dreams for their students. The dream to proudly graduate from college someday, the dream to raise up a student to make a difference in the world, the dream to be someone who is kind, who sees the world can be a better place. Sometimes teachers don’t always have the tools, supplies, or financial support to implement their ideas to support those dreams. Thanks to DonorsChoose, the Gateway Head Start teachers have been given that opportunity to dream big and watch their children succeed.

About Gateway Community Action Partnership Head Start

Gateway Community Action Partnership Head Start serves approximately 1,222 preschool-age children and their families at locations throughout Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Salem and Mercer counties in New Jersey.

Our program provides comprehensive services to enrolled children and their families, which include health, nutrition, social, and other services determined to be necessary by family needs assessments, in addition to education and cognitive development services. Head Start services are designed to be responsive to each child and family's ethnic, cultural, and linguistic heritage.

The mission of Gateway Community Action Partnership is to provide services that improve the quality of life and promote self-sufficiency. Our Promise is that Community Action changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves the community, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.

Join us as we continue to provide our classrooms with the necessary materials they need to help our students strengthen their school readiness skills. The Director of the Office of Head Start, Dr. Bernadine Futrell, recently stated, “We know that we can do more when we come together than we can do on our own.” Thank you for your support.
