In today's classrooms, technology should be interwoven into activities, engaging children in meaningful learning. One key tool is the projector, which adds interest and interactivity to lessons. My students and I will use the document projector to walk through lessons, showing steps to math problems, using graphic organizers, and for easier note-taking. In math, we can project a problem, then work on it together. By using a projector, all the notes and problems we practice are preserved, not erased as if we were using a whiteboard. This adds the benefits of being able to refer back to a previous part of the lesson or problem to repeat or re-explain the steps, and also of having the notes readily available for students with processing concerns or note-taking difficulties. It is also advantageous for auditory learners who need to listen, rather than write, but will also benefit from the notes that are easily photocopied. These notes are also easily uploaded or copied for a student who is absent. Using a projector, I can also use video clips, graphic organizers, and images to teach students different concepts or strategies. The projector is also essential for teaching technology, as my students learn how to use Google Slides and other Google Classroom tools. Students may watch a demo and discuss their objectives, then make a plan for their own projects. We are projecting for success because all students matter!
