I work at a public option school that offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programme. Our student body represents the diversity of our district with 54% of our population reporting their ethnicity as other than Caucasian. The mission of my school is to encourage students to learn through an international lens as thoughtful, compassionate world citizens. We actively embrace intellectual rigor, intercultural respect, service to our local and world communities, and the promise of a peaceful world. We believe in "IB for All." Students at my school exemplify all the traits of the International Baccalaureate student: thinker, principled, caring, reflective, open minded, inquirer, communicator, knowledgeable, risk taker and principled. They come from a variety of cultural backgrounds which is represented by the forty primary languages spoken in their homes.
