I teach in a classroom of children from many backgrounds and ethnicities. Our population of students with special needs and those experiencing trauma is growing. Also growing is the number of children who qualify for free or reduced lunch. The children are very eager to learn and we are working together to build a community of kindness and compassion. I currently have a classroom with 30 children, and that number is bound to grow higher in the years to come, due to major budget cuts to our district. I love my children and work tirelessly to provide them a safe space to learn and grow.
