Our school is located in a community overwhelmed with crime, poverty, parent-less children, homelessness, etc. Unfortunately, although some of the most prestigious colleges are mere blocks away, most children from this area do not even graduate High School, let alone attend college. This just continues to propagate the problems that overwhelm this community in a vicious cycle that never seems to end. However, our school was created with the vision that EVEN children in this neighborhood CAN learn. Every student at our school wants to go to college. Every student at our school has been instilled with the notion that education is the key to success and that it is not IF they go to college, but WHEN. As a result, our students have such a passion for learning. Extras, like using microscopes and going on field trips, just fuel that passion.
