I would love to have the novel Island of the Blue Dolphins and Number the Stars because I would like to expose my students to good literature. We have an excerpt in our Reading curriculum but I would like to give them more. This would expose them to good literature and hopefully get them to reading something different. I think that exposing them to these would help them develop a sense of who they are and who they want to become. It would also give them a sense of learning history and other things that they might not learn otherwise.
