My students are amazing young adults who inspire me every day. A group of teens made up of both Brooklyn natives and transplants, my kids come from many very different experiences that they bring into the classroom and everything they do. Even as ready as they are to continue learning and growing, many of them have unique challenges in the classroom that often stem from lack of access to supplies. Over 90% of our student population receives free and reduced-price lunch, and 99% of our students identify with a minority group. With all of the challenges they may face both in and out of our school, my kids work really hard to overcome to persevere. This year in my classroom I will be teaching Living Environment to over 150 students! In addition, I run the art club, stem club, and anime club 4 days after school! This means my room is almost always packed with high schoolers, and equally packed with LOVE!
